Asset Supervisor

An opportunity for an experienced industrial plant supervisor has become available. We’re looking for an organised, team player to join our company.

The position is located onsite at the Winstone Pulp International mill, Ohakune. (WPI Karioi)

As part of the Pioneer team, you will be expected to deliver practical and technical expertise, working closely with WPI management and staff, supervising and overseeing heat plant operations, maintenance and management. 

You will have experience in dealing with and supervising external suppliers and contractors. 

The role will require you to work closely with heat plant operators providing the required assistance to ensure maximum plant reliability and availability. The ability to solve problems and recognise opportunities for process improvements will be an advantage. 

Some hands-on work will be required and we will provide you with that specialised training.

Working closely with your Regional Manager, you will contribute to budget development and monitoring, assist with data logging, monthly reporting and administrating the Maintenance Management System (MEX). 

With a good understanding of health, safety and compliance you will ensure that all work being undertaken for Pioneer Energy onsite is carried out in a safe manner and fully complies with Pioneer Energy’s and WPI’s Health and Safety Policies.

Draftsperson

About the role
The Draftsperson will assist the Reliability Superintendent to deliver high-quality solutions and results by;

  • walking the plant to mark-up amendments to existing drawings and equipment lists.

  • updating process and instrumentation drawings.

  • updating location drawings and site plans (mill maps).

  • updating electrical, mechanical and civil drawings.

  • a focus on continuous improvement, including procedure development.

 

About you

You will be able to demonstrate the following competencies and capabilities essential for this role; 

  • strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships with internal and external clients along with your team.

  • significant, demonstrated success in the use of Autocad (or similar software) is essential.

  • 3D solid modelling would be advantageous.

  • demonstrated success in a similar role within a large industrial environment.

  • effective self-management and planning skills, being able to co-ordinate multiple priorities.

  • attention to detail.

  • a relevant trade or tertiary qualification essential.

  • demonstrated experience in the use of a CMMS, working knowledge on Maximo would be an advantage.

This position acts as the main point of contact for the Waiouru Military Camp (WMC) and Training Area relating to Health & Safety matters. You will provide advice and guidance to Commanders, Camp personnel, Unit Safety and Health Coordinators (USHC’s), lodger units, contractors and visitors. The capability is provided to all WMC units and facilities.

What we need
 
We are seeking a person who is passionate about health and safety; someone who is happy to get out into the business and continue to actively promote a health and safety culture. This is a key position where you will be delivering safety measures which requires exceptional communication and the ability to relate confidently to a wide range of people.
 
In terms of prior experience, you will already have a strong foundation in occupational health and safety and you are perhaps now looking to expand on that knowledge and start to broaden your ability, in what is quite a unique environment.
 
Ideally you will bring exposure to a wide range of industrial workplaces which has included:

  • Using risk management principles; 

  • Auditing, conducting accident/incident investigations and delivering relevant training and presentations; and

  • This experience has also provided you with a thorough knowledge of all relevant occupational health and safety legislation including hazardous chemicals (HSNO). 

You are self-managing and happy to work independently while also valuing the opportunity to be part of a passionate team of professionals.
 
A tertiary post graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent academic qualification is required.  Military related qualifications or experience, understanding of HSNO legislation or Test Certifier, professional certification and/or membership of a recognised professional safety organisation is desirable.

Diesel Mechanic

Ruapehu Alpine Lifts

This is a unique opportunity to work in the UNESCO Dual World Heritage Tongariro National Park with Ruapehu Alpine Lifts. RAL operates both Whakapapa and Turoa Ski Areas and we are currently on the look out for a trade qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our Maintenance team.

The Day to Day;

Just like the seasons change so does our business, and the day to day of this role means that you need to be flexible and adaptable to not only the changing weather but the changing business needs. Your key role will be to maintain the Ski Area vehicle fleet to a high standard in accordance with legislation and best industry practice.

  • Carry out vehicle maintenance and repairs

  • Reporting any defects or repairs to vehicles

  • Coordinating WOF's and other mandatory checks

  • Completing administration tasks related to specific jobs and vehicles

  • Assisting with planning of work and ensuring all vehicles meet standards
